TIN hurries to the Tongs’ house to stop the guards fighting. He explains the situation to the Tongs’ family head. They suspect someone has plotted the argument and decide to investigate. In order to cover up the truth, SHUN orders WAI to kill some witnesses. TIN does not give up pursuing the truth. SHUN asks WAI to kill more innocents. WAI feels guilty and wants to tell TIN the truth, but he cannot. The NIU country has reached settlement with the barbarians. YEE’s king father asks her to go home. YEE invites TIN to go with him. However, he turns her down for the unsolved case. YEE leaves alone sadly. WAI persuades TIN to call off the investigation. TIN has to drop it for it causes too many deaths.
